Nice apartments situated on an ancient farming estate dating back to 16th century and owned in the past to noble Florentine families (Gherardini and Pitti). This property is situated in panoramic location in the hearth of Tuscany, a short distance away from San Gimignano, Siena and the Chianti region. The ancient buildings on the estate (a farmhouse, a small hamlet of houses and a barn) have been recently restored and turned into 8 comfortable apartments offering rustic-style interiors. A nice fenced swimming-pool, to be shared among the 8 apartments, is situated just in front of the barn, a few hundred meters away from the main farmhouse and from the hamlet.
Excellent wines are produced on the estate and are available for tasting in the beautiful cellars of the property completely dug out of tuff.
In the hamlet there also are a good restaurant offering local recipes and a charming small ancient church dating back to medieval times.
Distances: Barberino Val D’Elsa and Poggibonsi with all kinds of shops are 5 km away, San Gimignano 15 km away, Florence 30 km Siena approx. 30 km, Volterra 35 km.
At guests’ disposal: fenced swimming-pool (6 x 12 m – maximum depth 1,4 m – open from 01/05 to 30/09 and from 10.00 to 19.30), furnished garden with sun umbrellas, chairs and tables.
Air conditioning available in all apartments. Near the reception there is a gazebo where guests can connect (for free) to Internet with their own computer via wi-fi.
During some months (July and August), the owners of the property offer to their guests a free tasting of their wines. Parking within the grounds.
Extra Services: Baby bed free of charge. Maid service available by arrangement (€ 15,- / per hour to be paid on the spot). Bikes for rent. Wine tasting and guided visit of the cellars. Upon request it is possible to organize cooking classes (min. 4 persons) at € 90,- / per person.

Amazing views, stunning sunsets, fabulous hostess with great family history and charm (can't say enough about this one in words!!!), and quiet, small hometown feel. There are plenty of activities within driving distances of 1-2 hours or less to make the Tuscany area complete. Easy access to the COOP and other local needs. Recommend paying attention on hours of operation for afternoon closures, am/pm, and weekend/holiday closures. I would recommend bringing your motion sickness drugs for those who have difficulty in the car-lots of windy roads, but views that make it all worth while!!! Michelle, Wayland, MA-USA
October, 2009. We were very satisfied with our stay at Borgo Cappelli 3 over our stay of 5 days. The owner was friendly and helpful. The 2 double bedrooms and bathroom were very nice. The kitchen was adequate although an oven,microwave and small sofa would have been nice. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the Tuscan villages yet still close enough to the highway. Shopping was a five minute drive away in Poggibonsai-a big PAM supermarket and a n inexpensive Penny Market supermarket as well. Five minutes north is the very sweet town of Barberoni-good but more expensive COOP store there and lots of charming places to eat. The villa does not supply basic supplies such as sugar,coffee,napking so you'll have to buy these. Considering that we were traveling on a budget, the price was perfect for us and as I've said, the location was wonderful. Thank you Barbera for a lovely stay.
This villa is located on nearly perfect spot in middle of Toscana. Just 4 km of small forest road from autostrada Siena-Firenze hidden in Toscana hills. If you count on everyday use of pool, be aware that only 4 apartments are near pool, and others are few minutes away.
If you wan't to spare some money on food, there is excelent market (Coop) in Poggibonsi just (4km away).
